The thermal conductivity of silicon carbide ceramic tubes is comparable to that of commonly used impregnated graphite tubes and significantly higher than that of other materials. It is twice that of metallic tantalum, 5-7 times that of stainless steel, 10 times that of Hastelloy, and 15 times that of glass.
